Of these mediums, she is currently showcasing her work with Ukrainian Eggs at DaVinci Artists Gallery in Tomball, Texas. Ukrainian eggs, also called "Pysanky," involve layering a series of dyes in a wax-batik style onto a real egg, whether it be a chicken, duck, or goose egg. The process of dying and waxing, building up layers takes upwards of ten to fifteen hours per egg, with the artist not knowing what they will get until all of the wax is removed. This tedious, but rewarding process takes patience, much practice and a very steady hand, which is rewarded by a delicate, but wonderful, original piece of art one can cherish for many years.
She has studied with Marilynn Loft-Houck, and Joyce Faulkner. In her spare time, TJ also teaches Music, both piano and voice, and sings professionally.
