Tracy's Tiger is a novel by American writer William Saroyan inspired me to do this painting. Thomas Tracy has a tiger. The tiger is hip, wise and invisible to all but Tracy. The tiger is actually a panther, but that's no matter because Tracy thinks of him as a tiger.
